REMEMBERING THE BOY CHILD

The brother program to Girls as Partners (GAP), Remembering the Boy Child (RBC), focuses on puberty and adolescence in boys and HIV/AIDS prevention. The sessions aim to create a sense of the male self and his place in society.  Facilitators act as big brothers and allow for open discussion, encouraging them to respect women, act responsibly and with awareness.

ANNUAL REPORT

In 2018, RBC facilitated sessions with 3,325 boys in 44 schools.  Topics included self-esteem, self-awareness, self-control, hygiene, sexual abuse, STI’s, and personal responsibility.

In addition to working with boys in primary and secondary schools, G-thamini also worked with boys in rehabilitation centres.
