ESSAY COMPETITION
G-thamini Essay Contest is a competition targeting local schools within Mukuru. The aim of the contest is to boost students’ imagination, critical thinking, and ability to express thoughts on different issues. The contest began in 2021, attracting 31 schools with a total of 1,500 participants from both primary and high school.
The competition proved so popular G-thamini has chosen to hold 3 smaller competitions each year, instead of 1 large one. A new topic is chosen at the beginning of every term and at the last competition in October of 2022, 12 schools participated with 547 students entrants.
The essays are graded and ranked by participating teachers and G-thamini staff with winners receiving a variety of awards and prizes, such as school supplies and dictionaries.
